LMAO@ the answer two above mine. I have not met ONE child who was scared of any of my 15 tattoo's. Actually they are quite fascinated by them, asking what they are and looking at all the colors. My son thinks neither here nor there about my tattoos. He has said that he wants one when he gets older, saying at 18 he's going to get one. I try to convince him to wait till he's older. 18 is a bad age to make a life time commitment like that. I was 25, and already a mom, when I get my first tattoo.

Interesting sentence structure. If, and that’s a big if, I understand your question correctly you’re asking if a parent has a tattoo or two, does that make him or her a bad parent. I don’t think that has anything to do with parenting. I have a rather large tattoo on my upper arm. I can’t see where it makes me any better or worse of a father. If it matters at all, the tattoo has my four children’s name intertwined in the tribal design with my wife’s name in the middle. Does that make it better than a dragon? If it does, I can not see how. How you treat your children and show your love is important. No, I don’t really want them to get tattoos, but then again some of the best people I’ve ever met have tattoos.

I have many tattoos and several visiable piercings. I am also a mother of 2 children ages 1 and 7. Just recently I asked my 7 yr old if she wanted tats or piercings. She lookded at me all serious and her response was, "Mom, u look really pretty with tattoos and stuff, but I don't like 'em all that much." I thought it was great. I'm raising a child who is non-judgemental of me and can make decisions for herself without influence. Maybe its a way of rebellion. Hahahaha!! Some kids get tats and piercings to go against their parents, and mine is not getting them!!

Tattoos are not what make children see adults as bad, actions are. If you are a good parent they will see you as that, so will other people, and if they judge you by your tattoos, oh well, so be it, just as long as you are doing what is correct by your children both morally and ethically that is what counts.

Neither my ex-husband or I have tattoos, but my son has several, and he has grown up to be an exemplary young man, has a great job, a wonderful fiancee, and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be an absolutely great father.

For those who are interested - there is a great little book...hardcover...called Mommy Has a Tattoo by Phil Padwe.

Amazon has it for $12.03.

Tattoos are not visible on everyone and some kids will have questions - more so your kids' friends will be asking more about them because they are not used to seeing them. We have this book in our studio and everyone loves it!

Today's kids are fortunately growing up to be far more open minded about EVERYTHING and the level of prejudice is plummeting.

NOOOOO...you are not a bad parent, you do not look trashy. Your kids may eventually get tattoos, but that will be their choice, and not JUST because they saw that you have them! DO not worry about what people will think of you. I am a teacher, and I have 2 tattoos. I used to worry about what co-workers, parents, and students would think. I now know that I am a good person and a good teacher...I do not think that I am judged because I have tattoos.

My husband is a tattoo artist, and heavily tattooed, and I have several, and our children are happy, smart, and well adjusted. Tattoos are kind of a non-issue in our home. If you have tattoos, why would it bother you if your children want them? Tattoos do not make you a bad parent. If a kid grows up around them, they are truly not a big deal.

I am not sure what you are asking, I have 10 tattoos and as far as I know I don't look bad to kids. One of my sons does want tattoos and he loves mine. My nieces and nephews all like them. I don't see a problem with them at all. Why would ink on your body make you a bad parent, that makes no sense at all.

wow, ya really need to get a better handle on the english language.

No people are not "bad" parents for having tattoos. Obviously you have no children.

If you are loved by kids you will be their example. But not everyone lives by other's influence.

Sometimes tattoos scare little children because it may seem unusual to have so many different colors of skin. Sometimes the pictures that you may have tattooed on may have things like skulls and stuff and that can scare a child.
It does not make u a bad parent if you have tattoos. Yet you are telling your child in a way that tattooing is something that can look good so that deffinetly increases their chances of someday getting a tattoo.
