My sis just moved and some of my stuff (one room full) got moved, too. She had insisted that I store my stuff at her place and not a storage unit. Well, now, she wants me to contribute to the move. Total cost was about $400. How much do I give her?

Well consider the fact that a storage unit will cost u monthly which in the long run will cost a lot more than 400 dollars. Your sis is doing you a favour by giving you free storage and a one time moval fee. I would go fifty fifty on the move. Storage will cost you between 40 and 60 dollars a month, plus insurance and other hidden liability costs. Take this over 12 months and you will easily pay between 480 dollars 720 dollars per anum depending on the terms that you sign with the storage company. I say pay the 200 or half of the removal fee, make your sis smile you pocket the rest. Take your man out with the money you saved and enjoy life.

Good luck
George

I personally think that $50.00 would be a fair deal. Your sister was going to have to pay for the cost of moving regardless to if you stored your items at her house.

This is just a good will payment, and being grateful for the storage of your items. It would have cost on a monthly basis for the storage unit.

Her fault but you knew she was moving. Why did you not remove your things before she left? I would do at least half. Your fault for not moving your things first but hers too for taking your things with her.

Pay for your % of the "stuff." Ask HER what she would think would be fair.
