When I work out, I only do a light run out doors for minutes. When I use the stair master, I do it on a lowers slower level. I do both up to the level that my heart rate elevates, for 30 to 40 minutes. I do this two days, one day rest, then two days, one day rest. I also do light weights, Monday, Wed, and Friday for strength and endurance.

There is no limit to how often you can do cardio. You can do it everyday if it pleases you, although it may affect your strength and endurance training.

If you do cardio on the same day that you do your strength training, try to do it about 6hrs apart from your training or, at least, do it after your training.

As long as you don't feel bad from doing that I wouldn't worry about it. If it's too much for you cut back to every other day, weights one day cardio the next.

If you're nauseated or spew chunks, it's too much.
If you're dizzy and/or pass out, it's too much.
If you can't breathe, it's too much.
If you can't speak, it's too much.

If you're in your twenties, make sure you keep your heart rate (beats per minute) to under 170 of course it depends how fit you really are.
