Where can I download free anti-virus/anti-spyware? I want anti-virus/anti-spyware that actually detects and eliminates viruses and spyware from my computer on a free version.

All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free.After you install any of them,make sure you update them to get the full affect.

Really there is no perfect or best virus scanner each of them has their perks and defects. Actually I'm sorry but once you computer is infected your computer may sustain damage and it won't necessarily make it run like new BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT INSTALL ANY VIRUS SCANNERS OF THE INTERNET if you computer is your computer is already infected installing something off the internet is like opening your front door to a bunch of serial killers it's a big mistake this will let more viruses on your computer making the situation worse find a scanner that fits your needs and has the options what you want install it onto a portable disc or go buy the official version from the store then put it on your computer without the internet and remove the viruses

Avast! all the way. It's free and has P2P, IM, and Web scanners. Definitely the best when it comes to free scanners.
