I beleive cave men were just men who live in caves. There are some people who live in caves today and have all through history. I'm sure there were different belief systems like they have today. I don't believe cavemen were "missing links" or anything though. Their skulls and brain size were within the perimeters of modern humans.

Hmm... if you mean cave men in the sense of Neandertals (the ones that went extinct just as our species started to make it big), then those guys were just on the brink of creating culture.

There hasn't really been much uncovered in Europe, where most of them lived, that shows they had many cultural rituals, like burial rites or art (unlike the homo sapiens that followed where cave art originated from), that show a belief beyond the physical. I doubt they had much in the way of religion or spirituality.

But what would they believe in? Maybe they would believe in the animals they hunted. Maybe they had stories and language, but there really isn't any evidence for it. Maybe they just lived to survive--you can believe in your own survival. :)

They probably believed in the power of the club, then fire when they finally "discovered" it.
Meanwhile, cave women birthed and raised the cave kids, kept the cave clean and gathered berries for meals when the cave men failed to bring home a woolly mammoth or three for dinner.

personally i don't believe in cavemen. in the Bible even the first people were highly advanced(Adam's son Cain built a city) the bible also states that others during the time knew how to make metals such as iron, copper, bronze, etc. and for those cave drawings, those r prob. just the same people having fun drwaing on the walls(maybe it was vandalism by ancient gangs :D jk) also i lot of "cavemen" r fake. it was either cromagnum man or peking man that's entire sleloton was completely imagined, the only bone's they had ever found was a tooth which turned out to be a pig's

Find a book or movie called Clan of the Cave Bear. It was based on extensive archeological research and was designed to reflect certain aspects of that research. While it is fictional and the story as told never happened, the concepts are valid.

The earliest form of worship was in the Mother Goddess. As ancient man could see that life quite literally sprang from a woman's womb, it was conceived of that all life came into being as a result of a great Mother Goddess. Check out this link to see some very early art depicting the Mother Goddess.

Some believed in the creator God, some didn't.

CaveMAN 101

Where’d they come from?

‘Cave men’ supposedly lived thousands of years before ‘modern man’ came on the scene. But God, in His Word, tells us the true history of these people.

In Genesis, He tells us that Adam and Eve were the first two people on Earth. Later, only Noah and his family were left on Earth after God judged man’s disobedience with a world-wide Flood.

Then, after God confused the languages at Babel because of man’s disobedience, various groups split up, taking with them their individual knowledge of technology. Some knew more about farming, some (such as those who were working on the Tower of Babel) knew more about building great structures, some knew how to use metal to make tools. Those groups which didn’t know how to do any of these things would be forced to ‘begin again’ — learning these skills on their own. Those who did have these skills were able to use them once they found a suitable place to settle — building great pyramids, or magnificent gardens.

Where’d they live?

Many families who weren’t expert builders would have found caves a good place to quickly make new homes. Today, the people who lived in these caves are called ‘cave men’. There was nothing ‘primitive’ about them, however — they used musical instruments, drew fascinating pictures on cave walls, knew how to make stone tools, could sew their own clothes, and hunted their food with great skill. When their bones are found, they are similar to our bones, showing they really were people, like us!

Who were they?

Evolutionists believe the evidence they find of those who lived in caves points toward us having less-than-human ancestors. However, seeing these things through ‘biblical glasses’ helps us rightly understand that these people were descendants of Noah and were, in fact, our relatives!
