You wont. I am in the same boat. I fell deeply in love when I was 18. It's been over since I was 19 and I still think of him. Dream of him and wish things could have been different.
It doesnt hurt as bad anymore, but time has helped me a bit. I will never forget him, and if he was your true love, neither will you.
Relish in the good memories. Time will erase the bad ones.

I don't know about true love because I believe that true love last forever and u are lucky to be together but first love I understand,
Its hard, sometimes u can never forget. I have been married for almost 4 yrs and I still can't forget my first bf, my first love. U learn to live without.
But hey, he's just u'r ex , and if u or him aren't committed elsewhere what makes u so sure he won't be u'r present and future. Best of luck
