Yes, there is a great song which was performed some years ago by Paul Peterson called, "My Dad." This would be a great song for you son to give to his father for Christmas. Also, there is asong by Elton John which is good but at present I can't think of the name of it. It was done some years ago as well. You might be able to order these songs (CD) from Best Buy or Circuit City.

There is a song called Watching You by Rodney Atkins- it talks about how is son watches everything he does and his son does it too. It is a great song....Driving through town just my boy and me
With a happy meal in his booster seat
Knowing that he couldn't have the toy
Till his nuggets were gone ... ..........
He said I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool
I'm your buckaroo, I wanna be like you
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are
We got cowboy boots and camo pants
Yeah we're just alike, hey ain't we dad
With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug
Said my little bear is growing up
He said but when I'm big I'll still know what to do
JUST A LITTLE SAMPLE- I LOVE THIS SONG FOR MY HUSBAND AND SON.......

Cat Stevens - Father & Son I believe that is very similar to what you're watching for. "The track, whose tune is delicate with a lilting dynamicism, frames an trade among a father now not knowledge a son's wish to become independent from and form a brand new lifestyles, and the son who are not able to quite give an explanation for himself however is aware of that it's time for him to search his possess fate. To echo this, Stevens sings in a deeper sign up for the daddy's strains, whilst utilising a larger, extra emotive one for the ones of the son. Additionally, there are backing vocals supplied via Stevens' guitarist and pal, Alun Davies, making a song an distinctive refrain of functional phrases, and sentences reminiscent of, "No", "Go and make this choice", starting mid-track, so softly, they're simplest perceivable with a mild expand in quantity closer to the top of the track."

Song entitled "My Dad" by Paul Peterson. The lyrics are great:
He isn't much in the Eyes of the world,
He'll never make history. No...
He isn't much in the eyes of the world,
But he is the world to me...
My Dad
Now here is a man
To me he is everything strong,
No he can't do wrong,
My Dad.
My Dad,
Now he understands
When I bring him troubles to share,
Oh he's always there,
My Dad.
When I was small
I felt ten feet tall,
When I walked by his side.
And, everyone
Would say, “That's his son”
And my heart would burst with pride!
My Dad,
Oh I love him so.
And, I only hope that someday,
My own son will say,
”My Dad. Now here is a man”
Here is a link that it plays the song automatically.

I don't know if you're into country music at all, but there is a song titled "The Dollar" by Jamie Johnson that is really adorable. It's about a boy who wants his dad to stay home from work to play with him, so he collects money from his piggy bank and what the tooth fairy gave him to pay his dad for his time (his mother tried explaining why his dad had to go to work).
