It should be corrected in Electromechanics and Electronics, because historically electronics is the name of engineering of small currents and electromechanics is referred to high currents. In recent times the power electronics is born because power devices like Mos and Igbt have intrinsic characteristics that are similar to electronic components but have the ability of controlling megawatts in few microseconds with less than 0.1 W of controlling power. So power electronics is in my experience a good neologism. If you need to know more maybe an internet search could help.

The use of electronic (usually silicone devices),that allow huge currents to flow through their anode/cathode connections to control typically electric motors and heater banks etc, whilst being controlled by minute,varying frequency switching electronic signals on their "trigger" connection...All come as one complete package..eg.Thyristors
