today i went on this trip with people in my school, we went bowling and me and my friends were on one lane and then my friends rob and jay were a couple of lanes down and this girl i hate was in the lane next to them and she started flirting with rob, i dont know why but got really jealous, ive got a boyfriend and i think of rob as a friend so i have no idea why i got so jealous...

People want what they can't have. When you saw the possibility that you could not have Rob as more than a friend (even if you don't think you do) then you became jealous.
Please do not confuse that with love.
It is just human nature: People want what they can't have.

It's natural for females to do that, you probably didn't wan't that other girl you was talking about to be flirting with your friend, Rob, because you think that girl isn't good enough to be with Rob because she is a bad person.

I don't think you necessarily like the guy, but because you might stand alone in hating her, you feel like your friend Rob is betraying and chosing her side instead of yours. It happens to a lot of us. Keep your head and don't let the small crap bother you. Life is too short.

Kelcihrn possibly you were protecting Rob from this girl cos you know she could be a bad person .I dont believe it was real jealousy as we know it .You obviously dislike her for a reason that just took over at that moment .Dont dwell on it to much you be happy .

Its because Rob is your friend and you don't like her, you don't want her getting within your circle of friends and in particular with a good one.
This could also be a good way of getting to know her, seeing if you can get along and be friends.

Just relax. If Rob is your mate then he will know her for what she is. If he is being friendly with her then relax. He's a nice guy (which is why you like him). It doesn't mean he prefers her to you!
