Tell him about it. My boyfriend bought me a diamond and topez ring back when we first started dating, and just guessed the size, and it was a little big so we went back together and had it resized. If you go together then you don't have to feel bad about giving it back to him. He'll understand, ring sizes are a hard thing to know. I got a diamond ring last christmas and my boyfriend remembered my ring size from the last time and it was too big again, that's because I had lost some weight. So just tellhim that its too big and ask when the two of you can go get it resized.

It isn't a big deal to have to have a ring re-sized. Half the time I can't remember my own ring size, I certainly don't expect my man to know it!
Tell him the ring is gorgeous, and you love it, but it's a little loose and you're afraid you'll lose it, or it's not comfy or it slides around and doesn't show off the great rock - or whatever you're biggest concern about it being too big is.
Then go the jeweler's together and get it re-sized. - It'll be good to have your finger there, and he won't have to let you see the receipt so you can keep pretending you don't know how much he spent.

Decisions like this shouldn't be hard if your serious with him you should be open with him. You should be telling him your honest opinions about everything. I personally think your being unfair to this guy. He went out and spent this money on you to show what you mean to him and you can't open up and tell him your ring doesn't fit? Exactly what else doesn't he know? Just ask him If he wants to spend some time together like go get something to eat and while your out you want him to take you to get your ring sized perfect for your finger.

I'm no expert, but I bet that if you let him know the ring is the wrong size, and you both go together to get it resized, he would appreciate it.

After all, if you want to get married later, he's gunna need the right size for a wedding ring, right.

But to tell him to get another one or to go and do it yourself might make him sad

Go to your jewler and explain the situation and have the ring resiezed to fit. Then tell him how much you love the ring, tell him him you had made to fit then tell him your ring measurements for the future.

The bring him a piece of jewlery (like a bracelet or a watch). Make love and laugh, then watch a movie and fall asleep in each others arms.

If I were you, I would say "honey I loved the ring you gave me but it is a bit big for my finger, do you mind if we go together and change it with the other size?". Ask him to change it together, if you dont do so, he might think that you did not like it that much and would like to go there alone and see the other rings and maybe change it with one of them.

you can give it to him to get it resized or do it yourself, just tell him. lots of jewelery stores resize rings and they dont cost that much. (they only way you should feel bad about giving it back to him is if you didnt want it at all.)

Hello... =)

Blame it on the jeweler!!!

I used to be one, and I happily took the blame for all manner of such "mistakes"....

Tell him that the ring was obviously not the size it was supposed to be, and ask him for the receipt, so that you can go, and make sure that it gets fitted properly. Tell him that you wouldn't worry about it, but you're afraid it will fall of, and you'll lose it.

Namaste,

Well hun, you definitely should mention it to him. I mean what good is it gonna do for either of you if it doesn't fit. Apparently he bought it because he wanted you to wear it. And if it doesnt fit then how are you gonna wear it? I think he would be much happier if you told him, instead of tryin to hide it. That way he could get it sized and enjoy seeing it your finger! Good luck..
P.S. a lil communication can go a long way sometimes !

Tell him that it's too big. It's silly to pay money to resize it when he can get it done for free. I can't see why it would bother him to take it in for you, and I wouldn't worry about it.
