Does it matter what a girl orders from the bar?

Just wondering what are some peoples favorite bar drinks. Also, for the guys, do you look for what a girl is drinking? does it matter? What does your drink say about you.

Now that I think of it...I havn't been to a bar since September o_O

As a girl, I don't think it should matter. I might look at what a guy is drinking but only in the same way I would notice what kind of shoes he had on or what color his shirt was. It's just one more bit of information, but not significant enough on it's own to define him one way or another. I would hope no one would try to define me by the drink I ordered, either! There is no short cut way to get to know someone - you've just got to invest the time. By the way, I like single malt scotch with water over ice, a nice merlot or (if I'm really lucky) brunello, or an ice cold Heffeweisen with a lemon or orange twist. So, if you caught me on a Heffe night, you'd never know my scotch or wine side unless you took the time to get to know me, and vice versa.....

well, as its the xmas season why not ...

ok mr market researcher... yup, it matters! you drink what you want when with m8's but drink what you want to be "seen" drinking while at the office party or on a date if you have half a brain.

For instance: at the office party drinking vast amounts or bear en burbing will not get u any closer to that raise u are chasing...drinking a gin en tonic or a glass of GOOD wine will not hurt your chances one bit!

whilst dating.... ordering a "long comphtable screw against the wall" might lead to u being alone by the time your drink is made...your young lady having run off to talk to the man in the suit drinking a scotch en soda.... to take your example with a girl ordering (which i find a horrific notion!.. no lady buys her own drinks when a gent is to hand)... id say that her choice will be a very public indication of her mood.

Personally i like Gin en tonic (bombay saph gin or tanq.)or a nice wine with food (french old reds...new world young reds...french chablis). during the day a bitter shandy is about the most refreshment u can find in a glass.

It shouldn't matter what you drink....but reality is not based upon ethics all the time!
I sometimes catch myself looking down on people that order White Zinfandel... it's like, they enjoy the IDEA of being a wine drinker...but they don't really like wine, itself...so settle for white zin (blech)
Personally, what I drink depends on my mood, and really...where I'm at. I have a bar in my basement, so when we have people over, I make very creative drinks for myself. When I'm in a really crowded bar and it might take too long to ask if they have each creative ingredient (I don't like to make people wait), I stick with simplicity and just order either raspberry stoli & 7up, or vanilla stoli & diet coke. Either one is easy and tasty...without messing up a bartender's rhythmn.

I think it matters what people drink. I look for guys that drink beer. That's what I like. Imported beer. - That way we already have something in common.

As long as she's not falling down drunk at the end of the night, I don't think it should matter. If she drinks light and can hold it well, it shows class. I'm not much of a drinker, so i stick to the basics. :)

Why the hell are you concerned about other people? Drink what you LIKE! Me, I'm a guy, I like most liquers like Grand Marnier or Apple Brandy neat. I also like sherry, port and vermouth. I can't stand wine and beer. Whiskey, vodka and rum are just OK.

It shouldn't matter, it's just about their personal preference. Me, personally...I ONLY drink "Easy Living's". That's nothing but mixed fruit juice! (Orange, pineapple, and cranberry juice mixed together.) I'm a non-alcoholic drinker! :)
