Revelations continue...they have never stopped...When I first read your question, I had the impression you were teasing, that you already had your answers.

The Roman Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the empire in 313 AD. What makes you think revelation has stopped? The vast numbers of people on the Christian Right who believe in the AntiChrist are influenced by the Dispensationalist belief system that stems from the visions of a 13-year-old British girl in the 19th century, if you can call that revelation. Many many people listen daily for that "still, small voice" that they think of as God speaking to them and guiding them. Not all of them are Christian. Consider the preface to Hugh Prather's "There is a Place Where You Are Not Alone."

And not everyone who says "God told me to do this" is hearing God. Many serial killers say the same thing, don't they? In the end, YOU have to listen for the Voice, and YOU have to decide what to do about it.

Advancements in mental health treatment has pretty much ended the the whole prophesy phenomenon. These days, we recognize mental disorders for what they are instead of believing everything we hear.

Christians quit having prophets after that Jesus kid was killed for sedition. Instead, they rely on the Book of Revelations for their profound insights into prophesy. Muslims are pretty much the same way about the Q'uran. Mostly though, you don't see prophets these days because it is unfashionable in religious circles to compete with the primary prophets of the various cults.

Cool fact: Most of The Book of Revelations was plagurized from The Book of Daniel.

Roman polytheism stopped being "in" when Constantine chose the cult of Christ over the cult of Mithra to be the official religion of Rome in the 4th century. His decision to have an official religion was a political ploy to reunify Roman citizens in an effort to save a dying empire.

some people still say god has spoken to them, so it all depends on how many people believe this. Back in the day, not only were people more superstitious, but a king would say god told me to do this, then send his army out to enforce his belief, so he's dealing with more than just words.

I'd say God's revelation is whatever your highest and most positive reinforcement of advice for whatever you believe is right for you.

God stopped because God have perfected religion for all man to practice, and that religion is Islam, and the last messenger already came, bringing with him the final revelation from God, and that revelation is the Koran.

Revelations (miracles) have not stopped. You are surrounded by them everyday---it's about FAITH, FAITH, FAITH. The belief in Roman gods was no longer "in" when Christianity began to spread and Constantine decided that Christianity was what was needed to unite the people of his empire ( and that was really all about politics and power, not FAITH, FAITH, FAITH.)

Revelations can be found, but most people disregard such visions as "insanity." Many so-called Christians will be quick to judge you as a lunatic and/or heretic if you proclaim to have visions.

One must have an open mind to receive messages from the "other side."

The heavens are in no way closed - what I love about the restoration of the Gospel, is that it sends the message that God still loves us, and communicates with us, that he hasn't just left us to our own devices.

best wishes
