To me, the only problem for us is OVERPOPULATION. Think about it. If we didn't have poor people breeding because of the lack of something to do, we'd be doing okay with more resources per capita.
All the problems we have right now leads to overpopulation in the end, including the question you made about diseases killing us. Not too many other animals are in the status of overpopulation because a well balanced ecosystem took care of population. However, us human beings are different. We have science that can cure us and that leads to overpopulation.
All the diseases come from lack of nutrition, pollution, sewage and etc.
However, I think you are undermining the fact that if dolphins had doctors and monkeys had hospitals, they too, would be living longer too.

Because we have opposable thumbs and can make fire. Because we're at the top of the food chain, and if we didn't cook some things, we'd have more diseases. And who says we have the most disease... have you seen all the rest of the animal world live to be 80 years old?

And besides, I haven't seen too many vegans that are happy and healthy... seems like they always have some digestive problem.

It is true that animals do not cook their food, but it is not true that animals have fewer diseases than people. Any veterinarian will tell you that animals suffer from the same health problems as humans and at the same rate. Here is something to think about--plants also have diseases.

Those other 'animals' don't know if they have diseases or not because they don't make regular trips to the doctor. PLUS would you really want to eat a raw piece of bloody, nasty meat?

That's an interesting question. It might be because animals may have developed immunities for raw food.

How do you know we (humans) have the most disease, it's probably because we humans are better at describing our ailments and animals can't. "DISEASE" not desease.

Would you really want to be a fish or a pig? Think about it.
