The plug hole is really simple to change just undo remove and replace with something similar.
The taps are a bit different due to the fact that you need to isolate the water supply from the hot and cold. To do this depends on what type of system you have, IE. combi, conventional etc.
If you are unsure on how to do this maybe you should call a plumber.
The plug holes are fiddly but can easily be done yourself.

I dont' know if you are talking about your bath or your sink. So I'll give you both scenarios.
The drain will be the most difficult part to replace if it is your bath.
In either case you will need to turn off the water to your house/apartment. But on the bottom of you faucet knobs in your tub/shower area there will be a small screw that holds your taps in place. You can remove them by using a small screw driver. If its your sink there is a nut that holds your taps to the water line underneath your sink. Just losen those and replace accordingly. You may need a large adjustable wrench to losen them.
The trim around the plug hole...hmm, if you are talking about the caulking trim in your tub you might just want to caulk it yourself. If you want to replace the entire drain then that will be a task for a plumber, and it will be pricey.
However, if its your sink, then it will be a plasitc 'bolt' that is holding your drain in place. You'll need some plumbers putty and you can buy a new drain from most hardware stores.
I would recommend getting a simple $12.95 "How-to" Plumbing book. It will have pictures and break it down simply. And it will have both shower and sink scenarios.
Good Luck.

It is not that difficult the main thing that Plumbers have going for them is that they have the correct tools.
I have changed my tap fittings many times due to various problems ( water conservation ) new pulse spray heads etc

Ginger, it is not a job for you have too ask. Not calling you stupid by any means. If you screw things up you can have helluva mess on your hands. Don't let some guy do it either unless you know he can do it..If you have a friend that is in that trade ask him to help you and show you how while he is doing it..Don't forget your life preserver, just in case..

It is not that difficult to do. Usually if you purchase a better quality faucet, the tail piece (drain) will come with it. I suggest that you purchase your new fixture at a do it yourself store and ask what else you need. They should guide you. Measure the distance between the center of the faucets as you will need that to buy the new ones.
