I don't know my biological dad. My mom married my step dad when I was 5 yrs old. I need a song that does not talk about knowning me when I was born or a baby. I want something that maybe talks about how much I appreciate him and how happy I am having him in my life.

Name of Band: Heartland........Song...I loved her first. ...Meaning the dad loved her before she met her husand to be .Its about a man who raised a girl and watches her grow up and gives her away on her wedding day..I cried the first time I heard this, and my grandaughter used it for her wedding and her stepdad cried too. Her father was not at the wedding either. VERY BEAUTIFUL SONG.

I have the PERFECT song! It is called Daddy's Little Girl. It is a song by Kippi Brannon. Here are the lyrics.. ( I was unsure if this was for a wedding! but I would dedicate this sond to my adoptive father even if I wasnt getting married!)

Daddy's Little Girl by Kippi Brannon

Daddy, take me with you, I promise I'll be good
Daddy, this is next time, and Mama said I could

Sittin' in the front seat, ridin' downtown
With an ice cream cone, I'd wrap him around
My little finger, tighter than my baby curls

You can make a tear go a long, long way when you're
Daddy's little girl

Walkin' down the aisle, with my eyes on "Mr. Right"
My bouquet was shakin', but Daddy held on tight
Takin' those last steps, Daddy and me
From the child, to the woman I'd be
With a diamond on my finger, and my Mama's string of pearls

He gave me away, 'cause I couldn't stay
Daddy's little girl

Well he tightened my bike chain, from seven to thirteen
Taught me to drive, when I was a wild thing
Preached and he prayed, while I made some mistakes
That I wouldn't have made, if I'd a done it his way

Now he hugs me when he sees me, we talk about the past
He tries to give me money, and I try and give it back

He's a book of advise, more than I need
The look in his eyes, is sayin' to me

"Let me help you while I can, while I'm still in this world"

What will you do when your Daddy's gone, and you're
Daddy's little girl

What'll I do when my Daddy's.... Gone

Here is another good one.. Amy Grant also sings this song!

Title: My Father's Eyes

(by eric clapton)

Sailing down behind the sun,
Waiting for my prince to come.
Praying for the healing rain
To restore my soul again.

Just a toerag on the run.
How did i get here?
What have i done?
When will all my hopes arise?
How will i know him?
When i look in my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.
When i look in my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.

Then the light begins to shine
And i hear those ancient lullabies.
And as i watch this seedling grow,
Feel my heart start to overflow.

Where do i find the words to say?
How do i teach him?
What do we play?
Bit by bit, i've realized
That's when i need them,
That's when i need my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.
That's when i need my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.

Then the jagged edge appears
Through the distant clouds of tears.
I'm like a bridge that was washed away;
My foundations were made of clay.

As my soul slides down to die.
How could i lose him?
What did i try?
Bit by bit, i've realized
That he was here with me;
I looked into my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.
I looked into my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.

My father's eyes.
My father's eyes.
I looked into my father's eyes.
My father's eyes.

Here is another:

Barry manilow:

I am your child.. This is an amazing song! But dont have the lyrics!

I hope this helps! I know how hard it is to find that special song that meets what you are trying to say!

There is a song by Brad Pailsley. It talks about just that thing, he married a woman whom already had a son. The thought would be perfect.

The song by heartland is the best. They are a country band. You can download it off of ITUNES if you have that. My neice used that at her wedding. It's a beautiful song.

Try "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. It is a very beautiful song and can fit any occasion and for almost any person. I am using it for me and my brother to dance to at my wedding.

I bartend at wedding receptions and they always play a song about when you were small. I just have never thought about asking the name. The DJ at these events just automatically plays it.

Song by Faith Hill
There You'll Be-Lyrics

When I think back on these times,
And the dreams we left behind,
I'll be glad cause I was blessed to get,
To have you in my life,

When I look back on these days,
I look and see your face,
You were right there for me.

Bridge:

In my dreams I've always seen you soar above the sky,
In my heart there'll always be a place for you,
For all my life,

Chorus:

I'll keep a part of you with me,
And everywhere I am there you'll be,
and everywhere I am there you'll be,

Well you showed me how it feels,
To feel the sky within my reach,
And I always will remember all,
The strength you gave to me,
Your love made me make it through,
Ohh I owe so much to you,
You were right there for me.

Bridge:

In my dreams I've always seen you soar above the sky,
In my heart there'll always be a place for you,
For all my life,

Chorus:

I'll keep a part of you with me,
And everywhere I am there you'll be,

Cause I always saw you in my life, my strength,
And I wanna thank you now for all the ways,
You were right there for me, you were right there for me
Always!!

Bridge:

In my dreams I've always seen you soar above the sky,
In my heart there'll always be a place for you,
For all my life,

Chorus:

I'll keep a part of you with me,
And everywhere I am there you'll be,
And everywhere I am there you'll be,
There You'll Be
