I have Trypanophobia (fear of needles) and therefore can't donate blood. I don't want to spend out a bunch of money just so I know what my blood type is but am kinda interested on what it is. I want to know if I got one of the kinds that not very many have and also so I can compair it to my husbands and the rest of my families.

Prick on fingure I can handle. And you can do this at your local doctor?

They can do them with finger pricks and use a blood typing card, you just put a drop of blood on it...and you see how it coagulates. We did that in Anatomy and Physiology class and it was relatively painless...I don't know if they have those at doc's offices or not, but it is worth asking.

Donating blood is the best way to do it. You can find out what your type is at no cost and save a life! It's not that bad. The trick is to drink lots and lots of water before donating. Make sure you turn your head away when it comes time for the needle. If you can do it, you will feel so good and have your blood type answer. Good luck!

You can definitely get it done at your doctor's, but it'll still involve a needle. No matter how you slice it, they have to draw blood to be tested.

Testing at the doctor's office is $90-$100 or more, and donating blood is free. I'm not trying to get you to do one or the other, but if you want to get tested bad enough that you'll endure needles, I suggest blood donation. It's free and it saves lives.

Good luck!

However you do it, it will involve needles. Ask your parents what theirs is. It can give you an idea, but unless they are both O, you won't know for sure what yours is without getting the test.
