You can get high from sharpies and as for getting high while using it, it will take longer, but it can happen. You have to think, how far was it from your face, how old was the sharpie, and how long you were using it. It sounds to me like you were getting high, but didn't notice anything until you had stomach pains.

Yes very possible :-) Some sharpies are strong- using them for a long time can be stronger than just instantly sniffing it.

Fumes from permanent markers can cause you to feel gross after prolonged use. If you have to use markers in an enclosed space, try to find some kid-friendly markers (Crayola makes good ones). They work for a long time without drying out, and they don't give off nasty fumes.

I don't think you get "high" but you could get a head rush from breathing in the fumes.I think whatever problems you have go beyond the sharpie!

Any exposure to them can cause a contact high, that is why there is a warning on them to use only in a well ventilated area. What makes you "high" is the disruption of oxygen transmitted to your brain, don't use them to just get high.

I think it might depend on your posture while using the pen. The closer your head is to your writing surface the more likely it would be that the fumes would affect you.
