I am babysitting and there was a knock at the door. I didn't answer, of course. It kept knocking for about 3 minutes! I don't know what to do. They haven't seen me because there are no windows in the front of the house where the door is. I am keeping the child shushed. The guy at the door is saying 'open up, it's only me.' and 'i know youre in there'...I'm REALLY scared, what should I do? It is not anyone who lives here because the only person who lives here is one woman...and her child of course who I am babysitting. What should I do? I've tried to call her but no answer. HELP! AND ASAP!

Thanks for all your help guys we called 911 and they are on their way I'm so relieved. However, the guy is still at the door and he is pounding on it harder and harder and yelling things like 'OPEN THE DOOR!' and its getting scary, but I know the police will be here soon. Thanks again!

I wouldn't answer the door either. If you are really frightened, call the police and ask if they could just send a car by.

I hope this is not a joke. but if you can hide the child and get to a phone then call 911. block off the door somehow, chair, table, any thing. then find something to use as a wepon, in the kicthen you might find some good knives. the best thing to do is somehow call for help

if this is a real case scenario. The person should stay hidden call the police. and definetly DO NOT TRY TO ESCAPE through a back door or anything because the person might see her and catch up with her especially is she has a child.

Is this some kind of a joke? Why would you be asking us on yahoo about that instead of calling 911 or something or even your parents because if your asking this on yahoo instea of calling for help you would have to be a child

I really hope you aren't joking because this isn't something to joke about. If you aren't joking, then call the police or a family member and have them come over. Until they can get there, stay away from doors and windows and make sure to stay quiet. If you truly feel threatened by whoever's there, then sneak out the back door to a neighbor's house.

Call the police and ask them to send a car to patrol the area, for about half an hour, and if you are still not comfortable, call a responsible adult to stay at the house with you.

Do NOT open the door! If the guy keeps knocking, call the police. He is probably drunk or high.

Don't answer, call the police. They can come by the house determine who the person is and if you know them. This happened to our family one time, but it ended up being my dad. He works at night and had forgot something. Yeah, It was before cell phones were popular...

Make sure all doors are locked. Call the police and stay on the line with them until they get there.
