My hubby and I just moved to michigan. When he took the drivers test to get a michigan license they mailed it to us instead of giving it to us right then and there. Where I am from(Ohio) when we go to get a license they give it to us on the spot. So just a little confused. Will they mail him his license when he renews it too or will they give it to him at the time of renewal?

It's to make sure you really do reside at the new address.

I'm from Michigan and I know for a fact that they will mail your new license when it's time to renew

there is been a rash of license bureaus being damaged into to thieve the sparkling licenses. Forgers can then make fake licenses for who ever pays - illegals, con adult males, and so on, so some states are shifting the extremely printing, & hence the blanks, to a extra take care of area.

It's the same for Houston, TX. They mail you the driver license and even your ID.
