Why do people instantly slam other peoples' opinions? Someone might make a comment, expressing their opinion, on a subject such as homosexuality... Before you know it people are jumping on the guy's case saying stuff along the lines of "We are allowed to express our own opinions so keep it to yourself!" Am I the only one who finds this rediculous?

Because the majority of people are sheep and have a reactive intellect. Their main objective is to impress the other sheep to vote for them as they want to be accepted and "fit in" to the corwd.
What they do not realise is it takes much more originality and intelligence to be proactive and ask a good question than answer it.
By the way don't follow me my little fluffy friends i'm a Wolf i'll eat you whilst your heart still beats just so you stay fresh and warm longer.

Your question is too vague to be answered. But one answer to a question that you did not quite pose correctly is "product differentiation". By disagreeing you are standing out from the crowd, which is good in the USA. If you ever live in Asia, you'll find people much more agreeable since 'standing out' is considered anti-social. My advice: if you want more harmony, move to China (and learn Chinese--takes about five years but it's doable)

Yes, it is ridiculous. Most preach freedom of speech as long it benefits them but when someone with a different view speaks up suddenly they are wrong to have a differing opinion.
I think people like that actually mean "Freedom of speech as long as your view agrees with mine" and that's sad.

I hate it when people do that.I am a very opionated girl.People just want it to be their way.Its like their way is only the right way to do it.Or they just want to put their 2 cents in where it does not belong.
