we have two kind of CD , DVDs :

rocordable : CD-R , DVD-R
rewriteable : CD-RW , DVD-RW

you can just burn a cd-r and dvd-r one time.

but you can burn a cd-rw and dvd-rw more than one time and they are alitte more expensive then cd-r and dvd-r .

First ensure you have media that is specifically rewritable. This will usually be a "CD-RW" or "DVD-RW".

Insert the disc into your CD or DVD drive. Then, click twice on your My Computer icon, and then right-click on the drive containing the disc. There should be an option "Erase this [CD-RW or DVD-RW] disc". Click on that option and that will erase the disc and make it usable for writing again.

Then, use your favorite CD or DVD burning software to reuse the disc.

You just need to buy cd-rw or dvd-rw which stands for re-write. Then follow the instructions for you software program you use to burn with.
