I just bought a new dvd video recorder that uses dvd ram discs. I can't get the discs to play in a dvd player or on a pc. The instructions say there is no special formatting required to use dvd ram dics. What am I doing wrong? Do I need a special computer and dvd player to play the discs?

I have already installed all the software to both my pc and laptop. Neither one of them even recognizes that there is a disc in the drive.

Your recorder will also record DVD-R (or +R) and probably DVD-RW (or+RW) disks. Use the RW disks if you want to re-record in the future and the R disks if you only need to record one time (they're cheaper).

Make sure you use the Finalize function when you are done to make them playable on any DVD player!

The DVD-RAM disks allow several unique functions when recording & playing back, but most other players can't use them.

Dvd Ram wont work on a Dvd player, only a computer harddrive containing Dvd software can play the Dvd Ram disk.

you want a larger clock p.c. CPU...over 3.0GHz (as severe as a chance over 3.0GHz) with out OVERCLOCKING. in case you haven't outfitted it yet, deliver that CPU decrease back. replace out the thermaltake PSU for some thing non-junk high quality. Corsair perchance. the flexibility furnish replace will be a call for for any equipment. Your CPU will be large (although overpriced...way overpriced) in case you've been progression a known-purpose equipment. yet that low clock p.c. is going to truly cripple gaming performance. BTW, i'm hoping you weren't planning to RAID those 2 difficult drives. the upward push in performance is minimum, besides the indisputable fact that the upward push in threat is important.
