Do you know what I see 1000 times a day here? People not of a specific belief system, claiming what another belief system believes. And most of the time they're completely wrong. There is a thread here about how Christians explain fossils, non christians claim Christians either dont believe in them or that they believe the devil planted them. The Christians are answering what they believe about fossils and aside from a couple people prentending to be dumb Christians, not a single one said what the non believers SAID they believe.

Have you ever thought someone believed a certain way and then found out they didnt? Did you admit then you were wrong or just figure the other person was lying about their belief?

Pretending to be dumb Christians. I'm sorry, but usually dumb people are the most noticed. When an intelligent person who understands religion and the alternatives responds I respect their answer because I know it was well thought out and they choose to believe that for example spades trumps clubs even though there is no evidence to prove it in the rule book. However, there are some people that say spades trumps clubs because spades is prettier looking, or other such silly reasons, and they argue vehemently and it's quite funny. In truth what we believe doesn't matter as I was trying to show in my "If there is no god.." questions. All we can do is argue over the rules of the game.

i have a feeling that those people pretending to be dumb christians weren't pretending. there are some christians on this site that make the rest of you look really bad.
i don't believe that all christians think a certain way, every christian is slightly different from the next. but i must admit that i consider the dumbest, hate-filled, evangelical fundamentalists to be your representatives because they are the most vocal.

Yes, and isn't it amazing how often the "best answers" don't come from members of these religions - you know, the people who would actually know what they do or don't believe.
