I am not a druggy, but i know a lot of people who will do coke but not crack.
Now i think crack is a lot worse than coke, it is pure and is a lot more addictive and expensive, but then coke is also addictive and expensive.
But generally crack is viewed as a dirty drug, and is one step closer to being a smack head with no morals or decency left.

Perhaps, you should have put your question as - I am not yet a druggie - As a person who has campaigned against drugs in Ireland for almost 30 years. I have carried out detailed research into the root-causes of addiction - and the mental health problem is present before addiction to either alcohol or other drugs. If these 'lot of people that you know is so keen on their drugs' is it not time that you 'cut your stick' and got to hell away from them - before you are sucked into that 'nasty drugs subculture'.

If you have the money to afford it, a lot of people seem to manage ok on crack for a while - the problems (assuming purity etc is not an issue) seems to be two-fold.
1) The money runs out
2) People end up using smack as a way of controlling the come-down.
I know quite a few people who have been crack users for some time, all but one now has a heroin habit too.
On the other hand, a fair few people who can afford the coke lifsetlye, seem to be able to JUST take coke and nothing else - but to get to that stage requires either long withdrawals or a VERY good income.

But it's too close to the slippery slope. You could try and walk on it and keep asking yourself, am i doing ok. But just cos you did'nt slip and fall does'nt mean it's not slippery.
Tell the people you know who do, to take themselves away from the area. To somewhere safe.
It is enticing. But there is a reason why people see it as being bad.
You are right.. crack is definitely a lot worse than coke. Unfortunately it is getting cheaper too. And it is very addictive.
It's not worth playing this game. At some point you lose. And you lose big.

There is a huge double standard associated with cocaine. Cocaine hydrochloride (coke) is indeed seen as an acceptable social drug by many people, while in its crack cocaine form it is seen, as you say, as something of a dirty drug. They're both forms of cocaine at the end of the day, and both highly addictive, though crack is even more so than pure cocaine. Crack use does sometimes lead to heroin use as people use heroin to cope with the effects of coming down from the crack high.
Legally, crack, cocaine hydrochloride and heroin are all Class A drugs and all carry similar penalties for possession or supply.

Coke is very much the party drug of the moment, partly because it's cheap these days. I believe crack is alot worse than coke. It's a bit like comparing speed to crystal meth. Lots of people will do speed but won't touch crystal meth.
I class crack and smack as being equally as bad.

What was your question? All drugs are bad for you. By saying cocaine is better than crack is just a way to justify your drug usage. I guess you feel better doing a clean drug. A drug is a drug!

Well all drugs are equally bad they all damage your health but in a cultural sense people who take cocaine are more likely to be well off people who may hold down jobs and live in nice clean enviroments, where as people who take crack and/or smack are more likely to be shoplifting, living in dirty enviroments and eating very badly, so taking crack and smack are worse than taking cocaine in that sense.

Smak is the term for heroin. Heroin is nothing like Crack, the euphoria is different but there. See, heroin is a downer and you will most likely do nothing the whole time you're on it. Crack on the other hand is "speedy" once your brain dumps all it's happy thoughts you will be wired, talking your head off and motivated to find more. BOTH SUCK AND NO ONE SHOULD EVER MESS WITH EITHER!!!!

I was led to believe that crack is even worse than heroin because it is more addictive and you need more and more to get the same high, with users often becoming violent and unpredictable.
At least they just fall asleep on heroin.
