The couple lived together 6 years, the child is 4 and the mother was the only one who ever worked and the house, utilitities, and car were all hers and in her name. Her parents are the ones who gave all the help, now the father wants equal custody even after he did nothing and has showed all kinds of violence. since the split? After they have been apart for 5 months, the guy still doesn't work, lives with his parents, is doing drugs(which we can't prove), and is becoming more and more violent towards his parents every day, only they keep protecting him so help right now is not an option. Also, what kind of rights do the grandparents have?

You need to hire yourself a good lawyer. If you can prove that the parents are unfit and you the grandparents can provide a good life for the child then you could be granted custody.

I'm not sure about the rest of your questions, but in Oklahoma, there are no grandparents' rights. I would think that a parent who doesn't work wouldn't have much chance in getting custody.
