She has been sick for about a week and was just diagnosed today. She's 15 and now she is going to miss all of her Christmas parties at school and all the stuff her friends were planning for the next couple weeks. How can I cheer her up and help her feel better?

I know you want to help, but if she feels like I did when I had it, all she will want to do is sleep......
Just make sure she eats somethnig 3 times or more a day and gets plenty of fluids. When she starts to feel better, having a few friends over might cheer her up, but she will probably still tire easily. So again, lots of rest, vitamins and liquids.
You're an awesome sister! Wish you'd have been mine when I was there!

Ask her friends to send over food or something special on the day of the planned party. Maybe they can sing her x-mas songs from the window that night so she knows they are thinking of her.

Usually things to keep busy and get better. Favorite book, magazines, music, movies. Favorite foods plus plenty of healthy foods. Game books based on your sisters likes (Sudoku, crosswords, etc.)

Get her some of her favorite magazines to read, ask her what u can do to make her happy?! AND, most importantly, make sure you use care in not spreading the infection, using bleach in the dish water is a good thing to do, and use lots of anti-bacterial products.. Tell her to get better soon!
