trying to translate with someone, and can't figure it out! HELP!

It means: "I didnt know alex before, I met him here"

"Alex didn't know him/it before, but here."

The word "lo" can mean "him" or "it", but since it's not specified I put both. It translates weirdly, though. I'd write "sino ahora" at the end instead.

It means: I did´nt know Alex ,I know him here.
