My fiance is living with me and my parents during winter break. I'm really not sure what to do when I'm invited out with my friends (should I bring him along even if he's not invited?) What if it is a party? So far, I've just been playing it by ear, taking into account whether these people are mutual friends and how big the gathering is.

Today is my best friend's 21st birthday. I am going bar-hopping without my fiance. He's upset that he's not coming too, but I told him that my best friend picked these people for his birthday, and that I can't just invite him along. Who is right?

If it makes any difference, my fiance and I are not "officially" engaged (ie, there is no ring and no date, though we are absolutely getting married). Also, my fiance has many friends in the area, yet for some reason he rarely hangs out with them.

Why are you living with a man who on't commit enough to give you a ring and set a date?

B/c usually we live apart and go to school in different cities, during breaks he lives with my family to see me.

We can't set a date because we want to wait until we are both finished with school to get married. He is a poor graduate student and wants to save up for a ring, but we already are looking at them.
Also why would you be bar hopping if you are planning to Marry this man?
I agree, but my best friend is a gay man and we are going to gay bars, so it's not like I'm going to get hit on.

I dont think you should take him with you every where you go! It is jst simple policy! yes once you get married your friends become his friends tooo but then you may wanna go by urself to those parties where you are invited by urself. you need ur space n he needs his!! n especially when ur best friend picked only those who can go! if she/he wanted ur fiance to go with u then he would have been invited! you should not take him to this party but explain to him that u need to have some space n ask him to jst chill.!!!

if he is a guest in your house, you need to acknowledge that. He should absolutely be with you at all times! no excuses! You don't invite a friend over and say "hold on I'll be back in a couple hours" ESPECIALLY if its your so called fiance. An you are not engaged if there is no ring and especially no date. Just because you have intentions of getting married doesn't mean you ARE getting married. A lot can change! You need a symbol of commitment or a set date to be engaged.

You are not engaged until you have a ring and a date. Why are you living with a man who on't commit enough to give you a ring and set a date? If you are engaged, then, I don't see why you should not take him with you. Also why would you be bar hopping if you are planning to Marry this man?

You need to grow up a bit, and get some morals before you get married.

If you have an acutal committed mature relationship, then he should be invited with you no matter where u go. However, if its your friends birthday and it's only girls who are going out, then he should respect that you are an independent woman who has a life of her own and get over it. Leave him home.

If you are supposed to be a thing then why are you tring to do things without him. Realize that if you do get married (and at this point to me that is an "IF") these people are going to be his "freinds" as well.

Plus I have to wonder why you wouldn't want your BF to meet your freinds.

If he's living with you and your parents and he doesn't know anyone in town then shame on you for even thinking of going out without him.
