This was said at a funeral of a military man in Michigan. The minister said the troop was killed and went to heaven so we should all be happy he died and is in god's glory.

Hopefully the words just came out wrong. I think he meant to say something along the line that we should be proud to have men and women that will risk their lives so that other can have freedom. However, nothing would sound right at a time like this.

I'm sure he didn't mean it in the way you're thinking. He probably meant that we should be thankful for the troops that are still alive, while mourning the dead ones. Maybe being in the military was hell for him, so it was a way to escape and be in heaven? Perhaps the minister was implying that the war is hell for the troops, and the only way for them to escape that travesty is to die and go to heaven.

Words of the Minister have been taken out of context.
That is not the way he said it.

BECAUSE HE DIED IN GODS GRAND SCHEME. HE'S DEAD SO ALL HIS EARTHLY PROBLEMS ARE GONE AND HE IS NOW IN HEAVEN. IT WAS NOT WRONG AND HE DID NOT PUT IT THE WAY YOU'RE PUTTING IT. THE MINISTER DID NOT SAY WE SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT THE TROOPS ARE DYING IN IRAQ. YOU SAID THAT.
