Secularism may overtake the religious world, only because the truth is now no longer a piller but relegated to being equal with all possibilities. So, in essance people will become so relativistic that truths of religion (power in one's faith) will be extremely hard to find let along stand on. I do not believe that atheism however will ever take over the world.

Nearly every culture in the world for thousands of years has had some sort of religious belief. The fossil evidence of prehistoric man holding funerals indicates a form of religious beliefs. Whether it's a belief in one god, many gods, nature spirits, or something else, religion has always been a part of human nature and human culture. The thought that religion, after being an inherant part of culture for several millenia, would just dissappear in a few decades is, in my opinion, truly unrealistic. There are over 6 billion people in the world, and current statistics show that approximately 90% of them are religious in one way or another. Why would that change?

Probably never. Superstition runs rampant.
Even kids form religions to explain what they don't know. Remember this commandment? "Step on a crack; break your mother's back."
Or how about how you can never digest chewing gum?
Or how about when you can grow a watermelon in your stomach?
Mankind tends toward superstition to get by. As a result, I'm sure that atheism will never overtake religion.

Atheism will never overtake religion. They will try to but than that might be the end of the world. Try reading revelations, it talks about the end of the world. when Christians are mass murdered for their beliefs, than you will have your proof for the bible

Surely you will have evolved into flying creatures to adapt and get away from all of us Christian fundamentalist. With that said, there is no need for Atheism to take over another religion. Only people take over other people's beliefs. God is the one who sets them straight.

I'm guessing around 2150 would be more likely. It takes a long time to make everyone smart. People - theists - are too willing to stay stupid. It'd be a long gradual process to fix that - just like Evolution except we atheists will have to take it into our own hands.

Although I hope our major religions go away for a more intelligent spiritual search guessing on a year seems rather pointless.

Never...The Bible states at Revelation 17:17 what will happen very shortly...and atheism will also be affected. False Religion will be destroyed. True Religion will be restored.

As long as governments can use religion/(a persons belief in the mystical) to govern people, I don't expect it to go anytime soon. As long as people are praised for their ignorance/arrogance by government/parents they will not change.
