1) That is a huge assumption.
2) How do you know they're Christians?
3) Do you know the Christ they claim to follow?
4) Do you make habits of judging other people without knowing what it is they really believe?
5) Why are you worried about it?

Focus on Christians that do try to follow Jesus, and those that try to reach out to others, and you will find the love Christ has to offer. Even Peter the Disciple of Christ denied Him three times.

Unfortunate. I see it too. We all try hard. We all have passion for one thing or another and that passion can cause frustration when other people don't get it. At least for me that is a cause of bad behavior.

Some just don't know a lot, or they misinterpret the Word. A lot of baby Christians are all gung-ho and go out to spread the word without a clue. I read a bio of a man who was an ex-con who got out early on a life sentence. He was a 'convincer' for the mob. He got saved and went right out to witness in the park with some church buddies. They caught him slamming a guy up against a tree yelling "you will get saved!!" -- An extreme example, but it is just a matter of doing the things you know how to do. This man knew how to beat people up to get what he wanted. He eventually figured things out and became a pastor.

I would ask for grace for these ignorant Christians. They may have good intentions, but wrong methods. On the other hand, there are a lot of people on here that are pretending to be Christians in order to cast us in a bad light.

I would hope that you can seek out the truth about Christianity in the Bible and not base your eternal decisions on fallible human beings.

You know, I was just thinking about that a couple minutes ago. I hate to make generalizations, because I've met a bunch of Christians here who are great people, but others aren't at all. It confuses me how some people can actually claim that they're following the teachings of Christ and at the same time say things like "I'm really enjoying the thought of you burning in Hell" (yes, some people have said that on here before) or using expletives in every other sentence just because you disagree with them. I received hate mail just yesterday from someone who was angry because I disagreed with her on something -- she sent me a letter with a couple curse words in it and I had never used any in our conversation. It just sort of amazes you... I mean, this is a CHRISTian that's talking like this? Someone's who's following CHRIST's example is behaving like this? I'll never understand it. Personally, if Jesus really did exist, I don't think he would either.

Again, a lot of Christians are awesome people and I'm very lucky to know many in my life, but others unfortunately don't fall into that category.

The requirement of Christ is to die to yourself.

How many Christians do you know that are Homeless?

For me to "die" to myself means that I have given up any ambitions that I would have chased after in this world.

But for some reason, we (Christians) are still trying to incorporate the Old Testament into the New Testament, not realizing that the New Testament is to give up our ambitions, not only for ourselves (primarily), but also what we think we have to offer towards the "Goodness" of this world.

This is a complete opposite of the Old Testament. The only person to successfully give up his ambitions as far as the world is concerned is Jesus. Jesus said Follow after me. Jesus was homeless on this planet. Not saying that he did not rent an inn from time to time, but he did say ... "foxes have holes in the earth and birds have nests in the trees, but the son of man has nowhere to lay his head. Therefore he was truly homeless. He chose not to chase the ambitions offered by this world.

In that decision he became Obedient to the WILL of GOD the Father in Heaven. His only ambition now was to please his Father in heaven.

As it is written ... "A voice spoke from heaven saying ... this is my son, in him I am well pleased." This was presented right after his water Baptism.

If every Christian became homeless and stopped chasing after their or the worlds ambitions, Christ would be promoted into the forefront.

The current argument 'behind the scenes' is that we (Christians) keep trying to incorporate the Old testament into the New Testament. The two Testament's are as different as Night and Day. That is the contrast, except we (Christians) keep trying to bring Dusk into it and we keep trying to make it work, not realizing the true nature of the contrast.

I am a Christian and unfortunately I have to agree 500 percent in what you say. The answer to your question is that not all (and I am beginning to think only a precious few) are true followers of Christ. When Christians meet the Christ they profess to follow as we ALL will, they will hear one of two things. "Depart from me, I do not know you as one of mine" (What they professed is false!) or will be asked to answer for the way they jlived as a Christian. Do not judge all of us Christians as being the same as the ones who prompted you to ask your quesion.

Christ was an enlightened ascetic who embodied tolerance and compassion. Many modern Christians are overweight materialists with cosy little lives who embody greed and intolerance. The two are like chalk and cheese.

Because Christ is God, God is perfect. No one on this earth is even near being perfect. Christians are sinners too, and may stray away from God or give into temptations.

Why are lots of Muslims on Yahoo solutions so in assessment to Mohamed whom they declare to stick to? Why are lots of Buddhists on Yahoo solutions so in assessment to the Buddha they declare to stick to? Why are lots of Jews on Yahoo solutions so in assessment to the God they declare to stick to? Insert any religious chief/faith into your question, they're each and each of an analogous. everybody thinks that they are acceptable and are illiberal of different ideals. Your question insinuates an analogous loss of tolerance.
