If it's anything like my Blazer, you'll have to remove the door panel and drill out the rivets that GM used when they installed your speakers initially. Make sure that you don't use too big of a bit. You don't want to enlarge the holes.
When you replace the speakers, you can just use the appropriate sized sheet metal screws that come with them to secure them.

If you are talking about the rear speakers, it's a MAJOR pain in the A$$ to change them on a grand am. I replaced the rears on a '99 2-door and it was a chore. First, you have to remove the rear valance, to do that you need to remove the seat, to remove the seat you need to remove the front shoulder belt mounting bolts which are huge torx-head bolts. It would be nice if you could get to them from the trunk but they go in from the top on this car. I would definitely consider having them professionaly installed unless you enjoy working on your car and have some skill.

If they are in the rear dash, you can access them from the trunk. They should just be attached with sheet metal screws. I'm assuming that you're talking about speakers.

just go to a place that sells other 6x9 speakers and get new ones of your choice
