I'm not a Muslim and can think of some reasons why the cross could be offenisive to people:

a) The xian cross is a symbol of war, and torture. If you look back in history you will find that a lot of horrible things have been done in the name of your religion.

b) Look at the emtymology of the word cross or crucifix. They both come from the latin word crux and crucifgere in the case of crucifix. And both words have association with pain and torture.

c) And I don't think that Muslims appreciate being called scum, by someone who is more than likely a hypocrite!

I of course am the target of your question I am a Muslim. Hey don't worry I myself call some Muslims scum because that is what they truly are; no qualms there.
I don't find crosses offensive I just don't wear one and about the one at St. George's I had no idea. It was probably said by some one who is sop zealous you can see gobs of it seeping out of their ears.
I for one leave that type of thing along. Sorry you were offended.

most muslims find nothing offensive about the cross or indeed christmas, the problem lies with the overly PC dogooders that think there might possibly maybe a chance of offending 1 in a million people therefore we should ban everything.

dont see them trying to ban Diwali though do you??

Its not the Muslims who find this offensive. But the government think that it may be. Its called political correctness. Get your facts straight before you start making accusations. Im not Muslim or Christian. Just informed.

Or the St. Patrick's Cross either.. hear hear... about time we laid down some rules about the disrespect given a symbol of a crucifiction...

Paraphrasing Bill Hicks; do you think, when he returns, Jesus will want to see another f***ing cross?

& another thing, some muslims are mad, some christians are mad, some buddhists.. well, buddhists are rarely mad, just very confusing... some jews are mad... some atheists are mad...

some muslims, christians, atheists... & so on... are scum...

most are not... &, no, I've never heard of buddhist scum...

Well, I'm not Muslim. I speak for the Pagans.

You stole our cross. Yet, you deny it. But, you openly use it for something that it was never intended for. You also stole all of our holidays. Why? Because you tried to completely block out the Pagans.

You would think I'm satanic, wouldn't you? Well, I'm not. I'm just a human being with an opinion, just like you put out your opinion.

If youre refering to the Bristish Airways stewardess, its a rule for safety. It could get caught in an emergency door, dangling objects and flying at 40,000 ft are not a good combination.

So if thats what youre going on about I think you should apologise to the Muslims.
