I am a Master Hairstylist w/ a top salon... The peanut butter answer is accurate, but you'll save yourself time if you use OIL. It's actually the oil in the peanut butter that breaks down the rubbery bonds in the gum, and the heat from your scalp and hands melt the peanut butter, causing the oils to separate from the peanut butter, thereby facilitating the break down of the bonds in the gum. Any cooking oil will do- vegetable oil, olive oil, canola oil, etc. Just work it into the gum, gently and generously. Be patient. It doesn't typically happen very fast, depending on the amount of gum. you can use the end of a tail comb to gently coax the loosened bits of gum out as they begin to break down. Wash your hair well when all is said and done, and your BF will never know he diff!

Ok, you´ll need some peanut butter. First, take a huge gob of it on your fingers. Then, cover the gum and the hair around it in peanut butter. After, you´ll need to work out the peanut butter by trying to move it down. Don´t worry about the grease on your hair for the moment, as the more greasy it is, the easier it gets. Try to slide the gum down. If you don´t have access to peanut butter, then try olive oil, or another greasy substance. After you try it, I suggest washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner! Good luck.

get a hair stylist to cut out the gum in the most fashionable way she can and then go get a couple of hats to hide the mess. only use this if the peanut butter or the baby oil doesn't work!

There is a product called Goo Gone...Walmart sells this for removing stickers and price tags from things...I've tried it on gum in my sons hair...rub it in with a paper towel, go easy, don't pull the hair...it takes some time to work it in...and the gum will slide out of the hair. It is very oily, so only use small amounts of it, you will have to blot excess up with more papertowels. Wash the hair with dish washing soap on another paper towel, get out as much of the Goo Gone, as you can. Then go ahead and shampoo your hair as you regularly would.

I know this sounds disgusting, but slather the gum in your hair with peanut butter, and work the gum out with that. Then you can just shampoo the peanut butter out.
Good luck!!!
