I can understand your question and reasoning...you have to first sift out the bad with the good that you've been taught and look for the evidence yourself...if you believe that you can receive truthful answers then it's best to keep seeking...Jesus said that humble ones God draws to him and if you keep seeking you will find.

Do you truly believe that the bible contradicts itself, or is that something that people have told you and you never learned to find that out for yourself? You must do your own homework...read the bible entirely and have someone help you with the scriptures so that you can understand what it is saying...many people have their own ideas, but it's not in accord with the scriptures. The Apostle Paul said you must "test the inspired expressions" to see if what people say is true, not just believe them without finding out for yourself. The bible was written in a way that ony humble people could understand it. you don´t have to believe in the God from the Bible or from any other book, but think about creation who created it all? who put the first seed before the great explotion? you may think it is all coincidence and part of nature, but if you ever get to know the whole potential of your heart and even your mind, then you will find God. That amazing feeling that you cannot explain but simply exists and doesn´t have to obey to all your wishes or proof any existence, but the feeling you get is amazing, even people who follow a religion have never been able to find God, but once you do it, through meditation, pray, or letting it be, you won´t have a doubt that God exists and don´t even have to proof to anybody because that is not important anymore, your life will be changed from that moment on, for good.

The reasons for why can outnumber the reasons for not believing. It's mostly a matter of your geographical location of your birth, and the values of your family. People will assume that religion is a good thing, because they are told to believe that. So naturally parents will want to teach their children this belief. Many religions do not condone questioning and demand obedience. Add this to the fact that most people cannot think rationally in many situations. Even if they could think rationally, people have to be taught how to avoid rational thinking when it comes to religious subjects. In many instances, it's similar to a brainwashing virus that invades people who are not immune to irrationality (virtually no child is!). Many people also assume that believing in the supernatural somehow answers their questions about life -- when all it does is make them avoid thinking about it.

first off there is evidence about an intelligent designer, namely God, you just have to know where to look. Look on Breakawaymag.com, then look up the E-mail Us section. Secondly, if there was no God, then this earth wouldnt have come around. and we didn't come by accident, otherwise we would have no purpose and we would just be worthless creatures. Finally, I'd rather believe in a God that is loving, merciful, and just, then nothing at. He encourages us to love one another and to do the right thing.

i DONT BLAME YOU .. the Bible was written by people so we are not sure that whats written in it is right ! Only the Quran was said by God and i was just like you .. when I read I got the point and my life even got better... if you watch the world around , your face , your eyes , the plants ... if there were no god nothing of them would be in its palce ! Trust me I am not telling you to follow a relegion ! just read read through Quran and understand it ! well most of the people are too lazy to do that !! hope your not one of them .. nothing to loose !
One more thing if you want to feel God you gotta look for him .. only then you'll find him !

well if that didnt work you should ask yourself : What was i born for ?! whats my duty ?! what are you living for !!!
GOD Bless You !

Yes, the old testament was truly the eye opener on this religion. I mean women have to sacrifice a bird every time they have there period!!! how many birds die and did people have to spend there whole life savings on birds. And you can shave your side burns....why the hell not!!! And selling your daughters to slavery, stoning your family cause they don't believe (which most Christians say...well the Koran says to kill people if they don't believe pssst!!!). Anywho and the only answer I've ever gotten was well that was the old ways. puff!

Well, there are many types of bibles written by many people now a days. I heard people say that the first bible was written while God was speaking, or something like that. I asked my friend one time, "why do people believe in God?" And he said, "because if there is no God, who will they believe in? and so there will be chaos."

Because He has proved Himself to me. How could I not believe after the miraculous events in my life?? I don't see any contradictions in the Bible. I hear that all the time, but no one ever shows them to me. Where are they?? God is good, all the time, and I know it. The evidence is in the asking.

Just because YOU see no evidence, doesnt mean there is none. People believe in God because they HAVE evidence and the most valuable evidence is the evidences in their own lives. Your theory on it is just like saying LOVE doesnt exist. Just because you have not experienced love (hypothetically) or think the theory is contradictory does not mean it doesnt exist, especially when billions of people experience it personally.

there is evidence everywhere that God exists, we just need to open our eyes and see it. All of the stories in the bible are true, and not in some 'fantasy land'. God does not contradict himself.
If i were you i would believe the bible even more. now that your older because it is more evident that God exists.
