Soldiers offer to give up their lives so that we can be free. It is their gift to us. All they ask for in return is that we never send them into harm's way unless it is absolutely necessary.
When a parent finds out that their child has been killed or hurt for a cause that is not rational, noble or even legal (see below) do you blame them for being angry?
Extra facts on the ground:
- Saddam had no WMDs. 6 months before 9/11, both Rumsfeld and Condi Rice stood up at press conferences saying just this. Unless the Bush admin. then slipped up, Saddam still didn't have them 4 years later.
- Assessments by the CIA, MI6, the Foreign Office and the State Dept. all said that Saddam was no threat to either his neighbours or the US, and was successfully contained.
- Other than because you are being attacked (the US wasn't under any danger from Iraq), the only way to launch a war that is legal under unternational law is with the permission of the UN via a resolutions containing the phrase "by all necessary means". This phrase doesn't appear in res 1441. and it was strictly understood by all members of the Security Council that a 2nd resolution would be needed to trigger conflict. That didn't happen. The attack on Iraq was and remains illegal under international laws that have been around since WW2.

With everything that is going on with the soldiers and the war I think you need to rethink this question. The parents of these brave men and women have every right to be angry when they find out that their child has died in the service. I think every parent not just the parent of a soldier is angry when their child dies.
I strongly feel that this question is very disrespectful. I pray that you never have to go through the death of a child.

I just came across a few videos on youTube.
Keith Oberman on Bush pre 9/11 that shows all the Inactivity of Bushes administrattion when they could have had Saudi Arabia hand over Bin Ladin then.
Very interesting stuff on how mishandled and uncapable to lead Bush really is.
Keith Oberman of MSNBC.

As far as this question from an idiot Bush supporter no doubt...how would you feel if your kids (lets hope you choose not to breed with your sister) who joined the armed forces to uphold the fredoms of our government died in a battle that did nothing of the sort - but only to increase the republican parties power and continue one idiots quest for a war that shouldnt have been fought.
The more you dig into 9/11 and the preceeding actions and lack of actions on the part of our nations leaders the more sickening it is to believe that this is being allowed to continue.
Im not one for really advertising videos but take a look at keith oberman telling it like it is.
and I just saw all the outfoxed videos, and to believe I actually enjoyed watching the foxnews network but will never see it quite the same ever again.
Judge for yourself
oh, and someone please slap the idiot asker of this question.
theres only one comfort that desite this terrible governments efforts on a war that doesnt make sense, every man and woman in uniform joined to beter themselves, strengthen a country, provide for their familes or better there life.
thats an honour not even a distorted president can take away from them

I have two brothers in the military, one who joined before the war started, and one after. Both of them knew what they were getting into, and both knew that potentially their lives would be at risk. And I would be devastated if either one was hurt or killed while on their tours - but I would know that they have done what they have chosen. I would want to honor their decision to defend our country. I would be proud of them....I think people like Cindy Sheehan are a disgrace to their dead children and the ultimate sacrifice they have made for us at home.

You are making a blanket statement!
The loss of their child comes to mind! While I understand their grief, the fact is their child joined the military of their own free will.

Why don't you enlist in the Marines. I would just bet that your parents would be very happy if you died.
