Personally I dont see nothing wrong with smoking marijuana. I work fulltime and do what im supposed to do everyday. It relaxes me and also I dont see any major side affects for it, it does more good than harm, so whats wrong with it then, besides it being illegal.

I agree with you, but there are some cases when people should not smoke; during pregnancy, financial difficulty, anyone below the age of 18 with behavior problems and when trying to find a job. I think that if you are in control of it and it is not in control of you and you are responsible enough to keep it in the privacy of your own home, then it should not be anyone business, but you better not get hurt on the job, or you could be punished for something that you did 2 weeks ago. Check out what this site has to say. By the way for all you people out there that say it is the GATEWAY drug, why do I know people that have never touched it a day in their lives, but they are cocaine addicts. You all fall into the propaganda and the stupid commercials. I am 38 and have smoked since I was 13, I was an A -B student in both school and college( which I did not attend till I was 34 Y), I have perfect vision after having damage done in both of my eyes, oh yeah lets not forget the biggest fake out yet "marijuana is physically addictive", NOT TRUE if it were I would have gone through with draw every time that I quit and by the way I NEVER smoked when I was pregnant. either, totally against that!!! How many out there say they wont smoke "pot" but yet they will smoke a cigg? You want the gateway drug I would have to say that was it. As you get older and more mature you don't smoke to get stoned, you smoke to mellow out. Anyone want to let me know the difference between pot and anti-depressants? Other then the fact that the later are prescribed ( so what most Dr.s are legal drug pushers!!!!) I could go on a large rant about that one.

Weed has too many side effects to list. I’m sure if you do research you will find all the facts. But remember, get all the facts not just one side. The medical side is the way to go!

Some also stated it’s a starter drug and it is. Who ever you buy it from will try to sell you something else…. You’re young and think its fun, but over the long run you will be sorry. Also keep in mind, if your dealer gets busted they will rat you out for a lesser sentence and don’t think they won’t. Another thing to keep in mind. Weed can also be laced or filled with some other drug or chemical you may never know about. So when you laying on your death bed… was it worth the ride?

Alot of people need to realize that it is not really that bad of a drug. If you want to call it a "drug". The ONLY reason why people think it's so bad is because it's illegal. More people die from drinking than smoking marijuana. NO RELATED DEATHS! People think drinking is OK 'cause it's legal? OK, so we lose alot of brain cells and maybe get a little clouded, MAYBE. Better than stinking like booze. A very offensive smell!! Not just that. Alcohol makes you moody if you drink it enough.
Oh yeah, let's not forget the pharmaceutical companies too. "Legal" drugs are OK too though?? So to the people that think weed is so bad, relax, and go have a drink. HA!

someone said you are four times more likely to have a heart attack after smoking pot... lets get things in perspective shall we... a person with a sedentary lifestyle is 100 times more likely to have a heart attack after shovelling snow... a perfectly legal activity.

go on webmd (a website for medical journals) and read some fascinating results from ACTUAL research not misleading stats like the one above.

education is the thing... i have been reading that they now think that THC has anti tumour properties... they did a study where they expected the weed smokers to suffer just as badly from lung cancer as ciggs smokers... but they found no increase in the risk of lung cancer in heavy weed smokers (22000 joints) and a 20 times risk of getting lung cancer if you smoke ciggs! they are starting to think that the THC actually has protective qualities... how mad is that!!!!! they need to do more research too!!!

well other than the smoke... (all inhalation of smoke will damage the respiratory system) so far this herb has shown beneficial properties to quite a few ailments.

from blood pressure... water retention.. arthritis, diabetes, multiple scerosis, tumors, eating disorders, treatments to cancer and aids... aids.... glaucoma, pain.... digestional issues... narrow artery disease (if not smoked) ... in liquid form it's beneficial to kidney function... bladder function...

the list goes on.

i have no idea why it's illegal.. it's an herb.. not a drug... (it's not processed as itself) there's many applications other than ingestable also.. one can make many things from it.. from cloth to waxes... inks... so on.

oh who knows.. this may be the thing that could save the world.. but ya know... no one listens... they just look at the surface but.. why the hell is alcohol legal then?

:D

It affects your judgment and performance, and I have heard that it has a LOT of chemical contamination these days--you don't know what you're getting. Smoking anything screws up your lungs and your wind. Oh, and what you're supposed to do every day is deal with reality. If you need stress relief, do something that's not illegal.

there are the chemicals that you are inhaling, and your lungs aren't made for it, there is some "tar" buildup from it. our lungs are designed for air, not everything else we put into them, and that's what causes problems, so smoking anything can lead to emphysema and things like that

there is risk of heart attack that more than quadruples in the first hour after smoking marijuana. The researchers suggest that such an effect might occur from marijuana's effects on blood pressure and heart rate and reduced oxygen-carrying capacity of blood.

Even infrequent abuse can cause burning and stinging of the mouth and throat, often accompanied by a heavy cough. Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same respiratory problems that tobacco smokers do, such as daily cough and phlegm production, more frequent acute chest illness, a heightened risk of lung infections, and a greater tendency to obstructed airways. Smoking marijuana possibly increases the likelihood of developing cancer of the head or neck. A study comparing 173 cancer patients and 176 healthy individuals produced evidence that marijuana smoking doubled or tripled the risk of these cancers.

Marijuana abuse also has the potential to promote cancer of the lungs and other parts of the respiratory tract because it contains irritants and carcinogens. In fact, marijuana smoke contains 50 to 70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than does tobacco smoke. It also induces high levels of an enzyme that converts certain hydrocarbons into their carcinogenic form—levels that may accelerate the changes that ultimately produce malignant cells. Marijuana users usually inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than tobacco smokers do, which increases the lungs' exposure to carcinogenic smoke. These facts suggest that, puff for puff, smoking marijuana may be more harmful to the lungs than smoking tobacco.

Some of marijuana's adverse health effects may occur because THC impairs the immune system's ability to fight disease. In laboratory experiments that exposed animal and human cells to THC or other marijuana ingredients, the normal disease-preventing reactions of many of the key types of immune cells were inhibited. In other studies, mice exposed to THC or related substances were more likely than unexposed mice to develop bacterial infections and tumors.

its just like everything else, its a foreign substance that we're putting in our body.

People who smoke it usually don't find fault in doing so for two reasons....denial and/or ignorance. They usually don't want to discover the true faults then they can no longer justify their need to smoke it.

If you do some research online, you will realize the effects of it, then perhaps stop smoking it.
