invasion of privacy but since we always have party pooopers who bring things into school that aren't suppose to be there.. it has to happen.. not much you can do other than be ahead of the game.

if possible put a lock on the locker... so when the searches come you must be present no matter if it's a single surprise search or a single search without your presence.

but don't bring things that don't belong.. just keep them at home where they belong..

just like with cars and luggage... common sense should dictate in all these situations.

when i hear someone getting busted for having stuff in their lockers, cars... luggage that isn't suppose to be there... i don't feel too much sympathy really... because it's a known fact that searches happen with things like this with property and travel.

just be smart and ahead of the game that is played with your officials....

it's the best you can do.. it would be so complex and a dire waste of time for yourself and others to talk about rights when it comes to things like this..

now private property and the home it's a different story... but i see our rights are in question to that also.

shouldn't be... when is it enough is what i wonder.

we do agree to give up some rights hoping that it means we can retain the others... but when is it going to stop when we have to give up things that should seriously be ours to consider.

First of all, nobody should ever be that stupid to bring illegal things to school without being aware that the school has the right to search their locker. Secondly, due to frequent school shootings, the searches these days are not only for illegal drugs, but also for the protection of those attending public school. Because of that, it is actually a safety issue, not just an issue of privacy. Students should be happy to have school locker searches.

The use of a locker is at best a rental. It is still owned by the school.

The school has to have a compelling reason to look in there, and not just do a willy-nilly search, but, people should be aware that there is no guarantee of privacy on a system like that

when we had locker searches at my school, we'd put orange peels in our lockers (makes the dogs go crazy) or cat food (same effect) just to hinder their searches

Do you pay to use it? If not, it's school property.
