The only place where you can find slam door stock is on the Lymington Harbour line where a special dispensation was granted to continue using them. Most of the stock taken out of service and regarded as life expired - as the slam door stock was - is scrapped, as is all old railway stock. A list can be found monthly in the Railway magazine of such scrapped stock. Some ex-Southern region Driving Trailer Vans (as used on continental boat trains at one time) and carriages were donated by the owning leasing company to preserved railways. One such, being used on the Eden Valley Railway in Cumbria, can be seen in my album quoted below

As far as i know the last of the slam door stock was to be taken out of service Jan-Feb 2006 apart from stock fitted with a guard controlled central door locking system.
Withdrawn units and coaching stock is usually offered for sale by the leasing company associated with the railway operator it was last used under.
If you want to travel on slam-door trains heritage(preserved) railways usually buy up this type of stock.
