although i,ve made it before i made it on the day. this time i would like to prepare as much as possible on xmas eve is this possible and if so how.

thanks to everyone for your help. i,ve just bought martini glasses today from ikea to serve it in so i,ll probably take yorkies advice. maybe in a few decades i,ll be able to send it in an e-mail to you brian. merry xmas and happy new year to you all xx

Cranachan looks great in a martini glass with layers of fruit and as long as you cling film each glass it will fine made in advance, just save garnishing till the last minute

Mmm, I love cranachan. I'm sure you could make it the night before and keep it in the fridge with cling film over it. Do you think it would travel well if you posted me some though?

1/2 cup pinhead oatmeal
1 3/4 cups double cream
2 tablespoons drambuie

toast the oatmeal in a frying pan over a fairly high heat until it is lightly browned. sift out any dust.
whisk the cream to a soft consistency,then mix in the drambuie and the toasted oatmeal. oatmeal.serve in tall glasses.
to make it moreish add 1 1/2 cups strawberries folded in
