On a first date I prefer to go to a restaurant! There you have enough possibilities to talk and get t know your date.
If you're afraid that you've nothing to talk about, then go to the movies or theater before...

When you go on a first date, let it be a lunch time date. Nothing in the evening and nothing that involves drinking. That way you can get to know your date in a comfortable, relaxed setting. Go on evening dates when you get to know the person a little better. Evening dates are to romantic for a first time date.

If you wanted a real relationship then u should go to a romantic restaurant so you could have the chance to talk and to know each other more rather than a bar wth a loud and noisy crowd and you'll just keep on yelling with each other coz you can't hear one another unless you just wanna have a good time with your date then that will be a perfect place.:-)
