Im not sure. however since it's recommended that you drink atleast 8 glasses of water a day it's easier to drink it, if it's always at hand. Maybe they carry the water bottles instead of coffee. Also it keeps their hands full and that migth help them if they are trying to not smoke as much.

In case a man says something dumb, we can pour water over his head.
We are looking for the guys carrying a bottle of bourbon.
So we can stay awake, during a boring date. (by splashing water on our face)
We are always prepared to engage in Chinese water torture.
We have water drinking contests when men aren’t looking.
I'm sure there are other reasons.. but those are the ones that quickly come to mind

more of that "if" stuff, just like with the stuff in their purse. George Carlin made a crack about people doing that. Honestly, I have no idea other then to keep your own personal supply of fluids rather then taking a drink before leaving home.

I don't and I don't know anyone who does. I usually have a cup of it nearby at work though, and that's because I like to drink it.
