He has a sensitive stomach- explain to the "everyone" you mentioned that he cannot have human food as it makes him sick, and if they do give into those sweet puppy eyes, they get to clean up his puppy surprise!

Tell your guests that they are NOT to feed the dog. Or you can put a cute little note at everyone's plate stating something to the effect that if the dog is fed scraps and gets sick, it will be the one who fed the dog who will be doing the clean up. Make it comical, yet firm and clear so that people get the point. (Don't make it disgusting either since everyone will be sitting down to eat).

I think your guests will get the idea of how important this is to you when they see that you've taken the time to individually inform everyone by making little notes for each plate.

Or, lock up the dog while you eat.

I can't believe so many people have issues like this. I simply tell people up front, DON'T FEED MY DOGS. I've never had anyone disrespect me and go against my request. I have a few times talked to the dogs (as opposed to the guests feeding them) when they're being given scraps. "Bailey, Junior, you know better! Do you want to have tummy aches later and get in trouble with mom for eating table scraps?" My guests usually get the point...they think it's cute, look at my dogs and remind them that they don't want to get into trouble.

Dogs, like humans, can have or develop allergies at any time. When your vet comes up with the solution it may be too late since your dog is old.
Nonetheless your other situation can be easily solved by not allowing your pet around these idiot relatives who do not want to understand the predicament they put your dog and you through every time they feed it human food. Either that or keep exposing your pet to this cruel treatment or have the person who gives it the food, clean the crap!!!

Don't let him eat anymore people food, it's not good for him. Put him away from everyone until after everyone is finished eating and everything is cleaned up. Lock him in another room. Almost all little dogs stomachs can not handle people food. It's not uncommon. With your dog being older he is probably just super sensitve. It's an easy solution and he's not going to be mad at you. You're saving him from an upset stomach and you're saving yourself from having to clean up messy crap.

Then you need to either tell your guests not to feed the dog or restrict him to an area where he won't come in contact with them.

It sounds like he has sensitivities so human food which isn't so uncommon. There are even quite a few foods that we eat that are harmful to dogs like chocolate.

He just can't handle human food, which is probably best for him not to eat it anyway.

Just tell your guests that although you know your dog is adorable when he begs for food, that he gets very sick and can't have even a morsel of food. If needed, keep him in a different room while food is being served for dinner.

Sooo??? Tell your guests that they MUSN'T feed the dog because he has a sensitive stomach and trows up all over the place and that's it! Your dog it's sooooo unlike mine, he eats EVERYTHING he sees we are eating and I have found that if we over feed him (like giving him the left overs from the chiken poultry that my mom never finishes eating) he tends to get a little gasy but in small chunks AAAAHHHHH he could eat all day and restfully sleep all afternoon!!!

Tell people not to feed him - make a big point of doing this and tell them anyone caught feeding him will receive the Vet bills to pay.

My son's Rottwieler is this way and we just cannot give him anything but his Eukanuba food.

Tell people to stop feeding the dog. You need a vet to find out why he gets diarrhea.

Just feed him dog food. Tell everyone else not to feed him table scraps and why.
