or it just means that you are taking a break from each other?

I think that the couple should clearly define what "taking a break" means to them. Some couples might see it as just an opportunity for some alone time. Other couples might see it as an opportunity to date others. But if you don't want to get into trouble with your girlfriend/boyfriend (especially if you DO plan to get back together) you should probably clarify what it means.

ummmmmmm i dont know if any of the answers are correct because a break could mean many things.
to be hounest have a so called break could mean seeing other people but if one does and the other doesnt its classified as cheating on ones behalf, but if two parties have a mutual agreement to have that break and see other people then thats fine i guess
or to just have a break and isolate yourself from EVERYBODY. but if your living with eachother well you must have separet rooms and separet friends cause things could get a little messy
if you live by yourself then i suggest, to unplug the phone and lock your door keep your lights off and stay with a good friend

I don't believe that they should. You are on a break to think about thinks and so on. I know that if my other was going out with other women I wouldn't want him back. I guess it is the fact that you are taking a break not breaking up.

Well unless you ask the other person in this couple what they think it means noone else's opinions matter. I minght say yes you can date and he/she may not see it that way. Unless you want this break to last forever, you need to decide together what exactly the break consists of.

Well, I wouldn't expect couples to take a "break" from eachother unless there was a break-up in the near future.

It just depends on what your significant other said to you about it. If he says that he wants to take a break to think about things then it means it wants to think about things if he says he wants to take a break to see other people then it means that , but you won't know that unless you ask him and figure out what he thinks.

If married NO. It will be over if you do. Just dating, that would depend on your agreement. Broke Up, yes you can date. On a Break from each other, that would depend on what you agreed on.

Well, i for one don't agree with "breaks". For me it's either black or white... I don't see that kind of grey...What do you mean by "a break"?When the break is over you start again or you continue from where you were? Sincerely, I don't see the point.

I think you have to clarify it between one another. I would think its just a break from one another while others will think its a free for all to date everyone you can get your hands on. Make sure before you jump on the dating bandwagon.
