I need to condense these sentences into one sentence. Can anyone help?

The environment the bacteria grow in affects greatly the rate the bacteria will multiply and grow. If the environment is suitable, then the bacteria will grow and multiply at a rapid rate. If the environment is not suitable, then the bacteria will grow at a lower rate or not grow at all.

The first sentence is purely introductory; I would keep it separate but it may be more concise to say:
"Environment plays a significant role in bacterial growth."

The remaining two sentences can be joined with a semicolon-'otherwise'-comma:
"If the environment is suitable, then the bacteria will grow and multiply at a rapid rate; otherwise, the bacteria will grow at a lower rate or not at all."

Your center sentence almost does it.

If the environment is suitable the bacteria will grow and multiply at a rapid rate, if it is not they may not grow at all.
