Bitter apple spray works well as a deterrent, as does hot sauce or vinegar. I also recommend not decorating the bottom foot and a half or so of the tree, to make it less tempting. Hope this helps!

Well, there's a couple things you could do. One option is to put your kitties in a spare room when you're not home and can't keep an eye on them. Another is to put cat repelent on your lights and ornaments. You can buy it at a pet store and it comes in a spray bottle. You have to respray every 24 hours though. Some other things that'll turn cats away is citrus and tobassco sauce. They hate the smell of citrus and they don't like the taste of tobassco. I rubbed some tobassco sauce down some of my cords and my two cats haven't bothered them since. You could do the same thing with an orange slice. Good luck!

make some sort of boundry around the tree and try to train them not to bite the lights and ornaments: discipline and maybe give them a treat or something when they dont play with them.

Simple really.
1) Grab cat by tail.
2) Swing cat clockwise over your head.
3) Slam cat repeatedly into nearby wall.
This actually works with most feline problems. Hope it helps.

I had a cat that chewed on cords too. HAD is the key word there. You can go to a pet store and get this citrus stuff to spray on things you dont want your cats on or getting into. I used it on my tree and my cat won't go near it anymore. And it smells good.

Surround the tree with anti cat spray ( can be found in pet stores) or double sided tape, they HATE tape! Also scold them when they get "within the boundaries" of where the tree is.

A spray bottle of water. Works every time. Eventually they will get the message to leave the stuff alone.
