Thanks for that. It's lovely. It reminds me of a (long out of print) book by Alan Paton called Instrument Of Thy Peace, which is his meditation on the prayer of St. Francis ' 'Lord, make me an instrment of thy peace ...' and the lovely thing that Paton says is that this is the one prayer that God will answer *exactly* as you pray it, no messing around, as long as you pray it with sincerity.

Whoever gave it to you is rather special and should be treasured.

My father forwarded me this email 2 weeks ago. To me it meant stop looking to others to find answers for the questions/lacking in yourself. We are provided the tools in which to grow and the lessons to do so--if we can see past our own needs and desires (I asked God to help me love others

I like the thought of learning through adversity. I don't understand why a god is required to learn tho.
