It sounds like you're on the right track. Fight to get those kids out of there, fight to save your kid. Don't go back, and good luck.

stay away and seek legal advice, dont get into any arguments with her, let social services know of the problem was a good move as a caring father your childs well bieing comes first.if you are seeking custody and are not into drink drugs yourself and are not violent,ie. you are responsible and have the backing of your family.your solicitor will assist you if you want to go for custody.untill then you will need to arrange contact through a mediator, social services .because of the age of your baby and feeding, you might need to arrange visits at an access centre.
ps.i am a single father and got parental responsability of my son for much the same reason, hes now 13. good luck.
ps if your baby is in moral danger the police can act and the child will be placed with family (you?)

Unless you have proof by way of a court order that she's into drinking and drugs, then it's your word against hers. Even social services will put a child back into the home of those who are drinking and doing drugs. When you split, you should have been smart enough to take the child the first time you walked. Really, your child should have been your first priority, and the baby is most obviously not yours or your ex's first priority. Go to social services and ask them about getting some sort of visitation and / or custody. But with a kid, it's time for you and your ex to grow up and put the baby ahead of yourselves in the future.

If I were you I'd go to the Citizen's Advice Bureau and find out exactly where I stand and what my rights are. Then at least you can start the ball rolling while you are waiting for the contact order

was there liquor and drugs in home w/ the baby there? did you see them? if so you should call the police. if the child is yours and you have proof. the police should give you the child then. once you have the child in you custody you can keep them until the judge decides who gets custody. you will need to contact a lawyer. keep a log of everything that happens. cops called, you see drugs or liquor in home w/ child. anything you think might be vital to you case. please keep in mind that the child is the one that will suffer the most if this caries on. that baby is stuck helplessly in the middle of you fight.

You've already reported it. Only other thing I can suggest would be to see a good lawyer. You may need to apply for custody of the baby.
