Why put limits on God? He can do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. People wanted to believe in science and evolution so God gave them enough "evidence" to satisfy free will. But those with true faith still hang on. Gotta love God. Take off the limits, God can do ANYTHING.

I think you are mistaking Christians with those bible freaks (I'm not pointing fingers, but looking in the general direction of protestants and especially evangelicals)
I'm a seminarian, studying to become a catholic priest, and in our first bible lesson, about genesis, it was clearly said it's a text about the relationship between God and mankind. Not a historical text, not biological, not archeological, actually no -ogical text at all.
If you ask this question to the I-take-the-bible-literally people they will probably answer those thing were laid there by God to test the man (yeah, I know, it's the most idiotic answer I've ever heard)
(...)
no, I didn't get struck by lightning, so let's continue. I you want to ask a better question to lure the above mentioned narrow minded christians out, you should ask them about all the contradictions in the bible (two stories of the creation and such and such)
Or give them some bible quotes from the next part of Genesis, where the sonS of God get down with the earth girls...

I can explain dinosaurs for u, but not cave men: please read this!!! (i know u are asking this:)
Christian scientists say that this world is 4400 years old.
Geologists say that the its 4.55billion years old.
so Whos right?
what if they are BOTH RIGHT??
read on, coz THERE IS NO CONTRADICTION BETWEEN THEM!!!!!
It is possible that both of them are right, because if so, the real history of the Earth would be like this:
4.55billion years ago: earth formed
4400years ago: God REmade the world
all the ice ages, extinction of dinosaurs etc etc happened in between these two events!
Christian scientists say that this is possible because: in the book of genesis, it says:
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."
u can see that theres ALREADY EARTH AND WATER (these things already existed!!!)
so God only remade the things that lived in it (plante and animals etc) only the events that happened in between the beginning of the earth and the 7 days were not recorded in the Bible!!
the professors in my university said that the carbon dating technique is not as accurate as the general public thinks (and they are NOT christians!!) so cave men, why is it impossible for them to have dated it erronously to a completely different age of occurance!?
Hope this answers your question and better your understand of the bible. Hope to see u in heaven one day!! i REALLY DO!!! seriously!!!

First, clarify origins. there have been no fossils till there have been creatures to fossilize. of course you will could exercising your faith to have faith that non-residing remember suddenly gained intelligence and jumped to life. Then to have faith that those creatures defied all organic rules and developed into thoroughly different species is a extensive bounce of religion. Your mountain of evidence surely quantities to a molehill of fabrication. And the fossil checklist is an entire embarrassment to evolution believers. slightly scientific evidence may be useful yet shall we face it, there is none.

I take it like the bible is wrong on that account, The saints that wrote it had no way of knowing the exact age if for them (and pretty much for everyone) 6x10^3 or 6x10^9 is "a long, long time ago".
You must take the historical context in mind when reading the bible, otherwise you'll end up very, very mixed up.

Explain it how? There was a primitive stage. Humans learned new skills, moved out of the stone age and into the bronze age.

I don't try to explain it. I have never viewed the Bible as an archeology book. There is much unknown, much to be discovered. But, that doesn't mean we'll have all the answers placed in front of us. No one will ever have all the answers. Faith though, still remains.

I explain it as, oh look we had a stone age. And so? Where do you get the idea a stone age contridicts God?

Suzy,
Why do we as Christians need to explain it? Have you ever considered that God does things in His way and in His time, not asking us for permission?
What I mean, is that He is God and created everything. That doesn't mean He told us everything. Perhaps knowing that we wouldn't be able to wrap our human mind around it.
Think about that for a minute...had you told people 2000+ years ago that we would be flying in machines, driving at high rates of speed in little coffins and watching a box with pictures in our homes, what do you think they would have said? "I think you've been in the sun too long...have some water and rest."
It's something to ponder...
