Anyone who believes that the earth could materialize and all those rock formations and geological sediments could occur in only 6000 years is a complete frikin' moron.

Case closed.

4 billion and 6000 is a very far stretch.

Can I be the first to say I think it's only 2.5 billion years old?
There, a happy medium.

geographic data supports the Bible which tells us the earth is only about 6000 years old. we cannot get an exact date like 6325 but 6000 is far closer than 1,000,000,000 or more. Dr. Kent Hovind has some great information about this. you can download all his debates from www.drdino.com. he has had some recent trouble with the IRS but nothing can disprove the information so lets not look at the person look at the info.
God Bless ya

If the earth is billions of years old then many animals(creations) died during that time. If death preceded sin than Jesus Christ's death on the cross did nothing. but the Risen Saviour is alive and has shared His glory upon many.

How could it only be 6000 years old? The scientific proof is that the Earth is over billions and billions of years old. Who says 6000? Idiots?

Well that is what moder christianity teaches !
but suppose when the book of genesis was written that the vision of the creation took 7 days to SEE. therefore on the first day Moses or Abraham saw the beginning of creation.
however there is the Gap theory. between the time the earth was created and people were made flesh there were the spirits of men created.
However the lineage and genealogy is estimated at about 6000 years.
i believe that when Paul said that a day with god is a thousand years with man is a sound estimate of time.
but i also believe that Adam had lived for a thousand years before he ate the forbidden fruit. and was cast out in the eighth day or the eighth thousand year.

Modern "civilization" is about 6000 years old. You know, the cultivater killing off the hunter? Or like Cain offering a vegetable sacrifice, and Able offering a meat sacrifice.

Christian scientists say that this world is 4400 years old.
Geologists say that the its 4.55billion years old.
so Whos right?
what if they are BOTH RIGHT??

read on, coz THERE IS NO CONTRADICTION BETWEEN THEM!!!!!
It is possible that both of them are right, because if so, the real history of the Earth would be like this:
4.55billion years ago: earth formed
4400years ago: God REmade the world

all the ice ages, extinction of dinosaurs etc etc happened in between these two events!

Christian scientists say that this is possible because: in the book of genesis, it says:
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."

u can see that theres ALREADY EARTH AND WATER (these things already existed!!!)
so God only remade the things that lived in it (plante and animals etc) only the events that happened in between the beginning of the earth and the 7 days were not recorded in the Bible!!

Hope this answers your question and better your understand of the bible. Hope to see u in heaven one day!! i REALLY DO!!!

complicated, what I believe you are referring to is the jewish beliefe that the world is almost 6k years old. In truth, they believe that life is 6000 years old. The earth itsel may be much older than that. Although the bible says it was created in seven days, some believe that means seven days "in g-ds eyes" meaning lord only knows how long in real time.
